Advice for Laboratory 4, Conditional Statements and Methods Please begin the laboratory with the review of the problem. In particular, spend some time to give a quick overview of the requirements, the algorithm, the use of methods with out parameters, message boxes and coding standards. At the end of the lab there will be a quiz. Remind the students of this at the beginning of the lab. At 1:55 pm, gain the students attention and ask them to finish up what they are doing. From 2:00 pm to 2:18 pm the quiz will be available. Remind the students that they have to complete the quiz by 2:18 pm. The quiz will be found on ELM under Assessments. Please treat the quiz as a test. Students are not allowed to talk to one another and they should not consult any resources, either in physical form, or electronic. The only screen that should be on their computers is the ELM quiz screen. The changes to the lab from previous years include: 1. Two methods that need to be implemented. These methods both use out parameters. 2. A requirement to follow coding conventions. In the future following these conventions could be part of the evaluation of a test.
